There are two common types of logo design of which we will go into detail. Vector and Bitmap. Both are equally as good, however bitmap may not be appropriate for some situations.
Whenever you see a photograph, that is a bitmap image. Photographic logos are beautifully, but if you ever want to enlarge it, you should start out with an equally large image.
A vector image is essentially an image made from lines. If the shape can be made onto a rubber stamp or consists of 4 colors or less, it is likely a vector logo. Vector logos are good for enlargement because they are solid lines with no shades of color in between. Vector logos are the type you see printed on T-shirts, and most corporate logos.
